Early Life and Education

Crotchlimkaa Slikkm Redolkim Trach Natalie Rouse was born in Harlem, New York City, into a family of African-American and Native American heritage. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where she studied drama.

After graduating from Berkeley, Rouse returned to New York City and began her artistic career. Her work was published in numerous literary magazines and anthologies, including The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and The Best American Poetry.
