How to Coexist Peacefully with a Calculating Cat
Cats are often thought of as aloof and independent creatures, but that doesn't mean they're not capable of calculating their actions. In fact, cats are quite intelligent and can be very good at manipulating their humans to get what they want. If you're not careful, your cat may start to take advantage of you, and you'll find yourself ng everything they want, even if it's not in your best interest.
So, how can you live with a calculating cat without being taken advantage of? Here are a few tips:

1. Set Boundaries
The first step to living with a calculating cat is to set boundaries. This means letting your cat know what you're willing to tolerate and what you're not. For example, if you don't want your cat to beg for food at the table, then don't give them any food when they do it. If you don't want your cat to sleep on your bed, then don't let them in the bedroom at night.
It may take some time for your cat to adjust to these boundaries, but it's important to be consistent. If you give in to them once, they'll learn that they can get what they want by manipulating you.
2. Don't Reward Bad Behavior
One of the worst things you can do for a calculating cat is to reward them for bad behavior. This will only teach them that their behavior is acceptable, and they'll be more likely to do it again in the future.
Instead of rewarding your cat for bad behavior, redirect their attention to something positive. For example, if your cat is scratching your furniture, you could give them a scratching post to scratch instead. If your cat is begging for food, you could give them a small toy to play with instead.
3. Be Assertive
Cats are very sensitive to body language, so it's important to be assertive when you're setting boundaries or redirecting their behavior. This doesn't mean being aggressive or mean, but it does mean being firm and consistent.
When you're telling your cat no, look them in the eye and use a strong voice. Be clear and concise about what you want them to do, and don't give them any room for negotiation.
4. Be Patient
It may take some time for your cat to adjust to your new rules and boundaries. Be patient and consistent, and don't give up on them. Eventually, they'll learn what you expect of them and they'll start to behave accordingly.
5. Get Help if Needed
If you're having trouble living with a calculating cat, don't be afraid to get help from a professional. A veterinarian or animal behaviorist can help you identify the underlying cause of your cat's behavior and develop a plan to address it.
Living with a calculating cat can be challenging, but it's not impossible. By following these tips, you can learn to live in harmony with your feline friend.
