Richard Wagner was one of the most influential composers of the 19th century. Richard Strauss was another composer who was heavily influenced by Wagner. Strauss's early works, such as his tone poems Don Juan and Till Eulenspiegel, are full of Wagnerian influences. However, Strauss later developed his own unique style, which is characterized by its lush orchestration and soaring melodies. Strauss's opera Salome is one of his most famous works.
